Q. What is Tier B?
A. Certain Local Exchange Carriers charge Long Distance Carriers higher rates to provide long distance to their local customers. We define specific Local Exchange Carriers that charge higher rates as Tier B carriers. If your Local Exchange Carrier is a Tier B carrier (see below**), we offer a slightly higher, yet still competitive rate program for those that are eligible.

Tier B carriers include the following: Verizon (formerly GTE territory only), Frontier, Sprint, Sprint United and Cincinnati Bell.
**Not all areas serviced by these Tier B carriers are eligible.

Q. Who is the underlying carrier for GotoLongDistance.com?
A. All customers are provisioned to Covista Communications.

Q. What are the billing increments?
A. Domestic calls are billed in 6 second increments with a 6 second minimum, international calls are billed in 6 second increments with a 30 second minimum.

Q. Will any long distance charges appear on your local phone bill ?
A. No. We bill directly on a separate invoice.

Q. What are Covista Communications's PICC and USF fees?
A. The FCC imposed PICC fee is $4.31 per Business line. Residential lines will not be charged a PICC fee. The FCC imposed USF (Universal Service Fund) of 9.10% will be charged on all intrastate and international calls.

Q. What are the GotoLongDistance.com billing options?
A. Billing Options:
Direct Bill - Receive a paper invoice each month and pay by check or money order.
Direct Bill PLUS - Receive a paper invoice each month and pay by credit card.
Autopay - No paper invoice, pay by credit card and view or download your monthly invoice.

Q. Is there a monthly Access Charges on Toll Free Service?
A. No, however, there is a one-time $2.00 per Toll Free Number setup fee for residential customers.

Q. What is the rate on my toll free number?
A. The rate on your toll free number(s) is the same low 3.5 cents per minute for intrastate calls and the same low intrastate rate as your non-toll free telephone numbers.

Q. Does Covista Communications credit switching fees?
A. Yes, Covista Communications will credit switching fees for Business Customers only. Fax a copy of your local bill containing the charges to Customer Service at 1-888-970-7700 for a credit of up to $10 per line. The credit will appear on your next Covista bill.

Q. Does Covista Communications accept Credit Card payments?
A. Yes, Covista Communications accepts American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.

Q. What is the Monthly Service Charge?
A. No monthly billing fee if you sign up for AUTOPAY billing option or if your bill is over $20 each month. (NOTE: $1.99 billing fee is charged when your bill is under $20 for all non-Autopay customers.)

Q. What is the monthly charge for a Toll Free Number to be listed in the National Toll Free Directory?
A. There is a $10.00 monthly charge per toll free number if you chose to have it listed in the National Toll Free Directory.

Q. What is the “Carrier Cost Recovery Charge”?
A. Notice: Effective on your September 2003 invoice (August 2003 usage), a $0.99 monthly surcharge will be assessed per account per month in order to recover costs the Company incurs with regard to TeleRelay service, National Number Portability and Federal Regulatory fees. This surcharge will appear as a separate line item on your invoice.
